TRAINEE DISTILLERS

We are hiring part time (min 16 hrs/week) trainee distillers to help meet growing demand for our spirits and our Ready to Drink canned products.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to come and join our production team in the distillery, working magic to produce our unrivalled range of spirits as well as mucking in with RTD mixing and logistics. All required training will be provided.

This is a great opportunity to get a foot through the door of spirits production if you’re looking for a change of scene or to diversify your skillset.

We are looking for several people to join the team so if you have significant prior experience and are looking for a more senior role do still get in touch as we may be able to create a different role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Mashing in to produce the wort that’s fermented to make our whisky wash
  • Running spirits on all of our three stills every day, under the supervision of an experienced distiller
  • Prepping casks and filling them with new make whisky
  • Blending ingredients for our Ready to Drink range
  • Keeping accurate records of every day’s production
  • Dealing with spent grain and other byproducts of the distillation and brewing processes
  • Handling deliveries and shipments into and out of the distillery
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment

Requirements

  • A love of all things spirit
  • Enthusiastic can-do attitude
  • Great team player
  • Love of machines and how things work
  • Physically fit and able to lift sacks of grain and botanicals (up to 25kg)
  • A clean driving licence or forklift licence would be an advantage but is not required
  • Previous experience in hospitality or another part of the drinks industry would be an advantage but is not required

We welcome applications by candidates from all backgrounds as we aim to be an inclusive employer and to be reflective of the local community. We actively encourage applications by women, by people of colour, by candidates with religion and belief and by candidates from the LGBTQAI+ community.

We aim to make all possible reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities but please be aware that this role will take place in an active production environment and involve manual handling.

What’s On Offer

  • A Real London Living Wage
  • Forklift training and WSET level 2 training, if required
  • A friendly working environment, including cute distillery dog
  • The opportunity to learn from our experienced distillery team and develop your knowledge of spirits
  • The chance for someone in hospitality to move from evening to daytime work
  • Other perks include staff gin allowance, discounts in our bar & restaurant, company funded cash health plan and access to salary sacrifice schemes including Cycle to Work
